Getting To Salt Spring Island
Salt Spring can be reached in a number of ways. Vancouver on mainland BC and Victoria on Vancouver Island both have International airports, with Vancouver’s being the largest. If you are entering Canada from another country, including the USA, you will need a passport.
From Vancouver International Airport
You can get a shuttle to the South Airport and catch a float plane to Ganges, operated by Seair Seaplanes, 800-447-3247 or 604-273-8900; Harbour Air Seaplanes , 800-665-0212 or 250-537-5525 or Salt Spring Air , 877-537-9880 or 250-537-9880.
You can also rent a car, or get a bus with Translink (Vancouver bus System) or taxi to take you to the Tsawassen terminal of BC Ferries, just south of the airport,250-386-3431. BC Ferries have routes that go from the mainland directly to Long Harbour on Salt Spring, or to Swartz Bay terminal on Vancouver Island, where you can connect to the Fulford Harbor Ferry to Salt Spring.
If you would like to travel from Vancouver International to downtown Vancouver or Victoria, this service is offered by Pacific Coach Lines, 800-661-1725, 604-662-8074 offers a service between Vancouver Airport, downtown Vancouver and downtown Victoria.
From Victoria International Airport
You can drive to Swartz Bay (approx. 10 minutes) and take the Fulford ferry to Salt Spring.
