Accepting the Gift of Love

(The Impact of the Three Principles on our Everyday Lives)

Every human being has unlimited capacity for the feelings of peace, contentment and harmony in life.  This is our birthright.  Although at times, our experiences in life can seem to block these positive feelings, it really doesn’t have to be that way!  It is much easier than we think to recognize and realize our true essence – that source within from which all life originates.

If you’re searching for happiness, if you searching for tranquility, if you’re searching just to have a nice, peaceful, loving, understanding life, in actual fact, you’re searching for your inner self.”  Sydney Banks

The Three Principles inform us and the field of psychology in insightful, even ground-breaking ways when it comes to the workings of thought and our personal minds. For each of us on a personal level however, the most profound and impactful secrets they hold lie, as Sydney Banks often said, in a “feeling” or “state of mind” that lies within each and every one of us. When we look in the direction of “our own true nature”, away from the ups and downs of our personal thinking, away from endless analysis and judgement to a more quiet and reflective state, we begin to see our entire experience with new insight, understanding and compassion. This is the “going inside” that Syd so often spoke of and this will be the goal of this retreat.

All you have to start to do, is to realize you are this superconscious state, and as you start to truly realize and experience the fact, then the superconscious state will turn around, and take care of you and guide you, and take you home to where you belong.

Sydney Banks

Everyone, regardless of the condition of their lives, has such an experience available to them. Please join Chip and Jan Chipman at the beautiful and tranquil setting of the Hunton Park Hotel just outside of London, England as they share how a chance encounter with Sydney Banks in 1975 helped them to “accept the gift of love”, find a whole new world inside themselves and, in turn, a life that they could have never have imagined or thought possible.. This is a retreat rather than a conference and is specifically planned to deepen the personal understanding of each participant. As such, sessions will begin at 10:00 A.M. each day, but the length of the sessions will vary according to the needs of the group.  Time will be provided, in this beautiful setting, for reflection and the absorbing of insights and new-found understanding.

Please note: For those who may not be able to stay at the hotel, participation as a day delegate, commuting to and from the venue, is most welcome.

Understanding Change (and how our true essence can never change)

Understanding Change

(And How Our True Essence Can Never Change)

Insecurity is an illusion created by thought.  That was the first insight that Syd Banks had before he had the profound experience that is bringing about historic change in the field of psychology.  The introduction and understanding of three fundamental psychological principles resulted from one man’s groundbreaking insights.

Changes in life are inevitable.  Instead of finding change to be a threatening aspect of our lives, we can welcome it if we can understand that insecurity is thought.

Sometimes when life is going along according to plan and we are feeling comfortable with it, a change in circumstances or other people’s behavior can suddenly throw us for a loop.  Feelings of contentment suddenly go out the window.  We may suddenly be caught in the quicksand of judgmental thoughts.

If we can be patient with ourselves, and understand that we are just getting used to something new, we are more likely to be able to see the big picture again.  We begin to see that underneath all the fluctuations and movement in day to day life, there are still, peaceful, immutable constants; and those constant are the three principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought, which make up our true essence.

The hope and path to positive change lies in gaining a deeper understanding of these three universal principles.  When we tap into this understanding, not only do we find personal peace and contentment in the face of change; we become agents of positive change for all of humanity.

Trusting Your True Self

Realizing Happiness Rather than Searching for It

A Teleconference Series January 13th – February 3rd, 2015

“Somewhere in the innermost recesses of our consciousness lie the answers to the questions all mankind seeks.” Sydney Banks, “The Missing Link”

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

When Sydney Banks had his enlightenment experience in 1973, he realized the true nature of the human experience, its origins and its creation, on a moment to moment basis. He realized his own True Self, and in doing so saw that this same undamaged, and in fact undamageable essence resides deep in the soul of every human being. This profound understanding is now paving the way for all human beings to free themselves from debilitating mental habits; habits of negative thinking and insecurity that prevent our natural state of happiness, our birthright, from rising to the surface.

It is of course very natural for us to be constantly trying to retrieve the joy and peace we innately owned when we began our experience of life as a human being. As Syd would say, that is the game of life.

However, Syd also endeavored to help us see that it is “the search” itself that actually gets in the way of finding the happiness we are looking for. It is the search, in all of its many disguises, that keeps us from experiencing the potential wonder and joy of each moment of our lives.

This mental search can be overt and driven or, just as often, subtle but incessant. Either way, it is predicated on constant self-judgment and analysis. It may take the form of striving to reach higher levels of consciousness, or we may be stuck (even after learning about the Principles), in trying to break our undesirable habits or thought patterns. No matter what form our search may take, it flies in of the face of the most fundamental spiritual fact that Syd Banks uncovered in his experience; that all human beings are spiritual beings, and as such, (regardless of what they are going through in their lives or thinking), are whole, totally healthy and undamaged on the inside. How many hundreds of times did he say “Look inside for the answer.” Our constant measuring of how we are doing as a person is, in fact, counterproductive. Self-judgment achieves nothing, except to take ourselves in the opposite direction of the true spiritual nature that lies within us at all times; whether we are aware of it or not.

In this next series, we would like to discuss the possibility of spending more of life in a state of realizing the True Self.

Best Wishes,

Chip & Jan Chipman

A Quiet Mind and the Now

The Gateway to Our True Self

Finding a quiet mind and being in the now are inexorably linked. They are in fact one and the same thing because a truly quiet mind can only be accessed in the now; in a precious moment when the past and future cease to exist.  That moment is the instant in which true insight and original thought occur. It is where the “home” that Syd Banks so often spoke of is found. It is where we discover our true nature and the true nature of the Principles of Universal Mind, Universal Consciousness and Universal Thought.

For all of us, there are times when our personal minds are quieter and times when our thoughts seem to run away with us. We may know that being present in the moment is profoundly rewarding and helpful in life, but at the same time find it virtually impossible to let go of thoughts of the past or future. At times it can seem as if we will never attain that mental tranquility that is so soothing when it occurs. The truth is it is always only “one thought away”, once we get a sense of the direction in which to look.

Sydney Banks illustrated this fact with his ability to help people understand the true nature of thought and the role it plays in our lives. He did so by talking from a place and an understanding that brought beautiful feelings and a sense of calm to the listener.  When we feel calm it is because our thinking has calmed down. When thought subsides, we experience the now. The insight and understanding that are our birthright then move to the forefront of our minds and we find the peace we are seeking.

Please join us on our next teleconference series, “A Quiet Mind and the Now”, as we once again explore the true nature of the Principles and our own true nature. We will endeavor to do so with simplicity and in a way that demonstrates that beautiful feelings are more easily attainable than we “think”. We look forward to sharing this time with you and to hearing your insights and the impact of the Principles in your life.

Sincerely,

Chip & Jan Chipman

The Power of Insight

A Teleconference Series                                                                            April 8th – 29th, 2014

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Throughout Sydney Banks books and recorded talks, you often hear him say that the Principles cannot be grasped by the intellect; that one must listen for something beyond his words; one must have an insight or realization.  He would encourage people to “listen for a feeling”; to “look inside for the answers you seek”.  Many of us in the beginning of our journey with the Principles found this very difficult to grasp.  After all, we have been using our intellect throughout our entire lives to learn and to try to understand the world we in which we live!  Syd however, was trying to show us that, deep within our consciousness, lay a deeper dimension of thought; a wisdom or divine intelligence that exists before the workings and relativity of our personal mind.

“Original thought lies deep within the soul of all human beings and is revealed by a true realization . . . or if you wish, an insight beyond the intellect.”  Sydney Banks, the Enlightened Gardner, Pg. 57.

Dictionary.com defines insight as “an instance of apprehending the true nature of a thing, especially through intuitive understanding” or a “faculty of seeing into inner character or underlying truth”.

Insight occurs when our minds are quiet; when we are in the now; when we look into the unknown.  Over the last 38 or so years we have had the privilege of meeting hundreds of beautiful people who have experienced transformational change in their lives after encountering the Principles and listening to Sydney Banks or reading his books.  Invariably, they would tell you, not that they learned to change their thinking or break their bad habits etc., but that they had a realization or insight that allowed them to see their whole world from a new vantage place and create an entirely new life.

Join us this April as we explore together in this next telephone series, the meaning and power of insight and realization and their role in bringing us closer to our true spiritual nature; our true selves.

Best wishes,

Chip & Jan Chipman

SEEING and HEARING: The Bridge to a New Reality

A Teleconference Series                        January 14 – February 4, 2014

Life on earth is a spiritual game of Thought, Thought being the divine bridge between the known and the unknown.”

Sydney Banks, In Quest of the Pearl

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Sydney Banks often spoke in his talks about “seeing and hearing versus SEEING and HEARING”.   He knew that every human being, regardless of their current condition, had a knowledge, a wisdom within them that, if accessed, would allow them to experience joy and a deeper understanding life, regardless of their past. His beautiful gift to the world was simply that a happy life is available to everyone.

Syd also knew however, that the answers we seek do not lie in the already known. They are available to everyone, but they reside inside our very souls, in an essence that exists before our intellect, before our learned knowledge, before our personal ideas of life. He knew that we possess a deeper understanding, a wisdom that isuniversal and accessible to all human beings, but that we would have to bypass the known, the intellect, to experience it. We would have to, as he would often say, “listen for a feeling” and gain insights that would allow us to SEE and HEAR beyond our concepts to a deeper dimension of Thought. These insights, this SEEING and HEARING, are the bridge to a new reality; a whole new view of the world.

When we are able to look past our preconceived ideas and beliefs about ourselves and others; when we are able to SEE beyond behavior and the past to the true self, life reveals itself in a whole new light. We see the world with new eyes; we see the beauty that surrounds us and solutions and answers we seek simply become apparent to us, because we are tapping into a source of wisdom and understanding that is at the heart of what it means to be human.

Join us as we explore together in this next telephone series the meaning and significance of SEEING and HEARING and how the Principle of Thought is the bridge to a New Reality.

Best wishes,

Chip & Jan Chipman

Listening and Presence

Our Connection to the Oneness of Life

A Teleconference Series                        October 15th – November 5th, 2013

Listening is hearing from the Impersonal in absolute neutrality.”
Sydney Banks, The Enlightened Gardener Revisited

Dear friends and colleagues,

Our upcoming teleconference series “Listening and Presence” will focus on one of the most critical elements of the Three Principles-based consulting that my wife, Jan and I have had the privilege to offer to individuals, communities and organizations over the past thirty years or so.

There simply isn’t any greater joy than watching a person discover a deeper understanding of their own true nature along with the happiness, peace of mind and beautiful life that this brings.

For those who wish to serve others (or just enjoy happy, loving relationships), a deeper understanding of our true self, is the foundation for experiencing true rapport with others.  As we deepen our own understanding, we automatically increase our ability to be truly present; to see beyond the outer image.  The impact of this way of interacting cannot be overestimated.  Not only is it the key to helping others unlock their own wisdom, it is the catalyst for positive change in teams, groups and communities.

Please join us as we explore together, the power that “Listening and Presence” has to bring each of us more happiness and peace of mind and to serve others in the way that Sydney Banks has served us all.

Best wishes,

Chip Chipman
